Welcome

FEATURED VIDEO

Exspectata, carus salutor!

The above is Latin for: “Welcome, dear visitor!”

And with this, I officially welcome you to my site. Please humor my continuing interest in the “dead” language of Latin with which I have opted to open the portals of this site.

My life in the Philippines has been very rewarding and meaningful due to the humble success that I have attained as an architect. Unknown to many, my thirty-four years in active architectural practice, has been paralleled by an equally gratifying involvement– as a mentor. This was with the young architecture graduates who came to apprentice under me, in my consultancy firm of R.G.Chan and Associates (RGC&A).  More than training them for the architectural profession, I want to believe that I taught my apprentices about life as well.

Words will never be enough to express the personal fulfillment that I have been rewarded with, each time my former apprentices visit me with words of gratitude. That the specialized and day-to-day knowledge I have shared with them, have been truly helpful in shaping their careers and personal outlook in life.

In my desire to continue with this calling as a mentor-guide, I have created this site– RGChan.Com.  But as I have always said to my apprentices, what I can share with you is only what I presently know, and that all of us will need to continually keep on learning.  My viewpoint is that formal education is only foundational training; that the pursuit of accomplished know-how must be turned into a life-long pursuit. That we must never stop learning–as we should always remain students in the University of Life

My intention is to fill this site, with nuggets of useful and inspirational material, which I am likewise a student of– to share rather than to teach.  But if you learn with me in the process as you go through these pages, then this site would have attained its intended purpose.

Sincerely,

Raffy Chan
